The Best Suntan Lotion Leaves Skin Deep Dark Tan with Protection from Sun

Posted: April 12th, 2010 by Kolleen

tanning lotionThere have been many research studies proving the devastating effects of the sun’s ultraviolet light rays on the skin, some which cause a cancer known as Melanoma which can basically ‘eat’ a person’s skin. These bad cancer cells destroy the good cells on and within the skin and there is no known way to stop them.

By using the best tanning lotion, one with an SPF – sun protection factor – of 25 or higher, an individual could cut their risk of skin cancer in half or more because the SPF protects delicate skin from the sun’s harmful rays.

Many people have been worshiping the sun since they were young children and throughout their teen years, then into their twenties and beyond, all without a thought or a care to what it does to their health and their skin.

Choosing the best tanning lotion is the only way to protect yourself from the harmful sun’s rays and against any type of skin cancers in addition to various spots and moles.

The ultimate protection from dangerous sun damage is to stay out of the sun, especially between the hours of 11 am and 4 pm but if this is not possible, some people have outdoor jobs, then they need to protect themselves with the strongest SPF sun lotion in addition to hats, long sleeve shirts and pants and stay hydrated so an individual does not develop heat stroke.

Numerous people will think nothing of putting tanning lotion on their children to protect them from the sun’s ultraviolet rays but won’t put any protecting lotion on themselves. This is like putting a seatbelt on the children and not on you. Many dermatologists suggest using a sunscreen or tanning product everyday, even if you are going to be in the car all day or simply running errands because the sun is often intensified through the windshield of a car and walking from the car to the door of a store can still have the sun beating down on exposed skin

Environmentally Conscious Candles Help People Breathe Better; Save Planet

Posted: April 8th, 2010 by Kolleen

scented candlesThere are a number of different kinds of candles and if an individual would like to be environmentally conscious, they should choose soy candles for their home. Soy candles are made of natural ingredients and will burn cleaner than other types of candles, even bees wax candles. Regular paraffin wax candles contain oils and greases from animal fats and release toxins, including black soot, into the air we breathe, which could be harmful to our lungs and other organs.

Soy candles are softer than regular paraffin wax candles so they are often put in decorative jars or tins for gifts or to help spruce up a sparse looking table or mantel. In addition, soy candles can be scented as well with a wide variety of spices, fruits, vegetables, flowers and other scents because of the soft nature of the wax and its other properties that allow the wax to hold a scent longer then paraffin wax candles. There are literally hundreds of scent combinations that an individual can choose from to make their house, apartment or dorm room smell like what they want it to, such as a floral arrangement, a bakery, a coffee shop or grandma’s kitchen and her homemade apple pie.

Some companies have come out with a ‘flame-less’ candle in which the candle is a LED light. These so called candles may look nice and work for certain people, like those who have pets and small children, but they do not offer the scents that a real candle can give to a room.

Scented candles make the perfect gift for weddings, wedding showers, and house warming presents; get well soon gifts, office party and co-worker gifts, secretary gifts and hostess gifts. Candles are the perfect gift when one can’t think of something else to give or the person has just about one of everything. Candles are a personal gift, yet not too personal.

Many women, and some men, like to place scented candles around the bathtub before they plunge into a nice relaxing bath. The candles help to take away their stress and make the room feel light and ‘airy’ while they soak and revel in the ‘me’ time most people get so little of these days.

Millions Suffer From Hearing Loss; Not Many Use Hearing Aids; Not Like Glasses

Posted: April 3rd, 2010 by Kolleen

hearing aidThe number of hearing impaired individuals in the Untied States is roughly 17 per 1,000 under the age of 18. That number jumps to 314 in every 1,000 for persons over the age of 65 that experience some type of hearing loss and this includes those who are completely deaf. Some type of hearing impairment affects nearly 28 million Americans according to a recent survey. Hearing loss is one of the most prevalent chronic health conditions in the United States, affecting men, women and children of all ages, across all socioeconomic levels and in all segments of the population. Occurrences of hearing loss increase with a person’s age; hereditary; trauma; disease or long time exposure to damaging noise or medications can all be culprits to a person’s hearing loss.

Only one in five people who could benefit from the use of a hearing aid actually wear one.  Many people believe they are not like glasses which could enhance one’s look; these people feel they are more bother than they are help. Studies have shown that these people have not given the hearing aids an opportunity to work for them and are not willing to make them work for them.

There are digital hearing aids or analog hearing aids as well as adjustable or programmable hearing aids and the person who can best help an individual decide which hearing aid is best for them would be an audiologist, someone who works with the hearing impaired people and hearing aids to help the person adjust to the new hearing device as well as adjust the device itself.

As with all things, medical or other wise, a thorough investigation of what a hearing aid brand can do for a person is in order. Looking at hearing aids reviews is a good idea before purchasing a certain brand or trying out several models. The more a person knows about a hearing aid and the company that makes them, the better they will feel about using their medical device and how it will help them over time.

Mini Storage St. Petersburg FL Helps Store the Seasonal Items; Small Inventories

Posted: March 25th, 2010 by Kolleen

self storage St. Petersburg FLA self storage St. Petersburg FL company is practically recession proof because when times are good, people are storing their extra items, and when times are bad, as they are now with the downward economy, people are still storing their extra items due to downsizing in their lives.

Many people are now using self storage units to store items they really don’t want to part with, but because of various reasons beyond their control, like the loss of a job or a foreclosure on their larger house, they need to move a lot of their material possessions into a safe and secure facility until they can get back on their feet again.

Some people are simply downsizing their lifestyle to be more eco-friendly and reduce their carbon footprint by ridding their home of so much clutter so they are storing most of their belongings that they simply don’t use on a daily basis in the self storage units.

People facing a foreclosure will take most, if not all of their belongings and rent out a self storage unit in order to salvage their belongings because in most cases of foreclosure, the Sheriff comes to the door and removes all the belongings to the curb and locks the family out of the house. If there is nothing in the house for the Sheriff to remove, then there is nothing he or she can do but lock the house up. By having their furniture and other worldly belongings in a storage facility, a family can begin to look for an apartment or other living arrangements in which they will then be able to move most if not all of their belongings with them.

A mini storage St. Petersburg FL facility is set up so that people can store smaller amounts of items and not an entire household full of items. For example, a mini self storage facility would be ideal to hold seasonal items such as artificial Christmas trees and large lawn decorations. It would also work well for small businesses that do not have much storage space at their office and need somewhere to store their inventory if it’s not too much.

Baby and Girls Tutus are all The Rage, Across the Country; Fashion Forward in Tulle

Posted: March 7th, 2010 by Kolleen

girls tutusTutus make each little girl feel like a true ballerina and sometimes someone special.  When she’s all dressed up in a leotard and tights, the perfect complement, no matter what color she is wearing, there would be a beautiful matching tutu made with over 150 feet of high-quality tulle – which is the same material real ballerinas have their tutus made out of.

Girls tutus are the latest fashion accessory for young girls, babies and pre-teens. They are being worn to schools, malls, dances and during everyday outings, in big city’s and towns.

It’s not unusual to see teenagers, “tweens” and very young girls walking around the mall or their school in a brightly colored tutu and jeans. A purple, pink, green, black, red, white, yellow or blue tutu would look stylish along with a long-sleeved shirt and a nice pair of jeans for an everyday outing or a special day of school.

And speaking of schools, there are several college and university school colors available in girl tutus or baby tutus, perfect for a tailgating party or to wear to the big game or simply to represent a girls school team spirit in bright colors and accented with matching ribbons.

Of course girls and teens need not have to wear a leotard and tights to don a beautiful festive or birthday tutu. Birthday tutus are made with a gorgeous crochet hot pink stretchy band and over 150 feet of high-quality tulle in a multitude of colors, several of them containing bright colored polka dots for a festive and fun look.

Another great idea for a baby or young girl would be to allow them to dress up in one of the colorful tutus, along with either a white leotard or color coordinating one, and take them to have their photograph professionally made by a photographer. Many of the professional photo studios have different themed backgrounds and props such as a ballet bar or fancy lace and fabric covered stool which would make a darling photograph to give to grandma for a holiday, mother’s day or her birthday gift.

Weddings in Michigan rely on Wedding Planners for that Perfect Day to Come together and Make the Day a ‘Better’ not ‘Worse’ Beginning

Posted: February 4th, 2010 by Kolleen

weddings in MichiganMany soon-to-be married couples have found a secret destination wedding location in weddings in Michigan located in Charlevoix, Michigan where there is a beautiful old castle that lends itself to unique and exclusive weddings for those who want something a little different for the most important day of their lives.

When engaged couples hear the words ‘destination weddings’, they typically think of a tropical getaway in which the couple marries at sunset on the beach or high above the seashore on a cliff with a beautiful view; however things are changing in these difficult economic times and more and more couples are deciding to stay closer to home yet they are not giving up on a destination that will make their wedding day a spectacular success and something to remember.

Castle weddings are becoming more popular as a destination wedding not only because it is in the United States and easier to travel to, but many people are not affiliated with any type of church or perhaps they have lived together for many years and have finally decided to tie the knot and would rather have a unique, yet simple ceremony that includes all their friends and family but not the traditional church.  If a couple does want somewhat of a traditional church wedding within the castle, there is a chapel located on one of the castle floors that accommodates small groups or very large groups of people ready to witness a wedding ceremony.

A wedding in Michigan provides couples with peace of mind so that they can relax and enjoy their special day without the worries of what might go wrong. Expert wedding planners are on hand to help make sure everything goes smoothly during the ceremony and the reception whether the wedding is being held on the castle grounds in one of the many gardens or in the castle itself in one of the unique rooms set up for weddings.

The castle wedding planners are experienced working with couples who live in other state because the castle in Michigan has become quite the destination wedding spot and many of the couples can’t take off work in order to tour the site, so they have to rely on a virtual tour from their computer and then leave most of the planning details up to the staff.

Precious Memories, Selling Gold Online In These Recessionary Hard Times

Posted: January 21st, 2010 by Kolleen

sell goldIn the past few years, many people have been forced to sell off some of their precious memories such as gold jewelry that has been in their family for years in order to pay bills due to the recent recession.

There are many places people go who may sell gold including gold chains, bracelet, charms, brooches and pins and even gold teeth. Finding a place to sell gold is especially easy through the Internet because many of these places know it is easy for an individual to look up gold prices so they know what the going rate for an ounce of gold is and then they know that they are getting a fair price for their gold pieces.

Many of the online gold jewelry brokers own their own refineries, which mean they can melt down the gold pieces they receive from consumers looking for quick cash from selling gold jewelry which cuts out the “middleman” and gives more cash to the consumer.

The process of selling gold jewelry online and through the mail is pretty simple. A person fills out a form online and they are sent a prepaid envelope, usually from FedEx, UPS or one of the other large shipping companies. Then they place their unwanted gold items in a secure and insured envelope and send it off to the gold buying company. Nearly all of the gold buying companies will offer their customers a tracking number so the consumer knows where their gold jewelry is at all times. The gold jewelry company weighs and measures the gold and then writes a check to the consumer who sent the gold and usually ships the check out the same day.

Gold prices are at a record all-time high with 10 k gold paying out at $394.07 and payout on one to three ounces and 24 k gold paying out at $1018.71 for between 25 and 50 ounces.  Of course these prices fluctuate on a daily basis depending on the gold market’s price of the day.

Many people selling gold jewelry have a piece of gold that are all different weights or karats, most gold is 14 karat, but there is also 10, 18, 22 and 24 karat gold.  In addition, almost all online gold buying businesses will also accept gold dental pieces.

Divorce Attorney NYC Suggests Mediation as a way of Divorced Couples Coming Together

Posted: January 13th, 2010 by Kolleen

New York uncontested divorceAccording to a divorce attorney NYC, it is paramount to a divorce case in which children are involved to have everything regarding the children spelled out in detail, especially anything that might come up in their future because if it is not, this leaves a door open for the noncustodial parent to sue for parental rights that could change what the custodial parent has planned for the child/children.

In one particular New York uncontested divorce in which the mother had full custody of the couple’s three children, which included their eldest son who was blind, the husband who had no parental rights sued to have his son go to a special school instead of the New York City public schools where he was receiving special education for his disability.

Of course it is impossible to predict every incident that might arise in the future of raising a child, especially one with a disability, but to avoid conflicts with your ex-spouse and expensive litigation it is best to sit down and try to think of every possible scenario a parent can come up with.

A separation agreement NYC is a ‘cooling off’ period for many couples before they sign divorce papers.  Couples can request the courts to grant them a legal separation in which most of the decisions about child custody and financial support is ironed out, however there may be one or two points of contention between the couple such as a retirement fund or property that they need more time to discuss.

Some lawyers and judges are big fans of mediation and will require that a couple show proof that they have completed several visits with a mediator in order to proceed with their divorce. Mediation is not a mandatory event for a divorce but it has been proven to be helpful in several research projects across the country.

If a divorcing couple has children, and if at all possible, it is best to put egos aside and do what is in the best interest for their children and keep the fighting to a minimum especially in front of the children. Try not to bad-mouth a spouse in front of a child; if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all. Children can and will be resilient if cared for and loved by both parents.

Tampa Houses for Sale Waiting for New Owners; Carolinas, Virginia Receiving all the Attention

Posted: December 25th, 2009 by Kolleen

Tampa realtyA Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens opens with the line “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times . . . it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair.’  This famous line could summarize the recent changes in the real estate market.

In the summer of 2008 the talk was all about the potential to buy loan books at heavily discounted rates and the banks’ concern to avoid “jingle post” as homeowners who were underwater simply handed back their house keys.  However, the loan-book market failed to ignite because banks would not sell at the prices being offered, this according to a Tampa realty company.

Recent market talks have been around acquisitions of non-UK loan books – what the United States is doing, loan to value defaults and issues surrounding prepack administrations.

In the development market, debt is unlikely to be available for speculative projects for the foreseeable future.

Tampa houses for sale may remain empty for a little bit longer than normal according to a Queens College demographic study conducted in 2007 regarding the influx of new residents to Florida versus the exodus of approximately 10,000 more people.

While the study found that most domestics migrate to the Sunshine State still come from New York, the numbers have decreased dramatically in the past couple of years.  Nearly 60,000 New Yorkers moved to Florida in 2007 about 40,000 fewer than in 2005.  These are the most current numbers available.

Many brokers say parts of Florida are as congested as Long Island and aggressive residential development in Georgia, the Carolinas and Virginia has made these states ideal alternatives for New Yorkers and Long Islanders looking to escape nasty winters, traffic and high taxes.

The U.S. Census Bureau backs up these numbers the real estate experts, showing more are choosing the Carolinas and Georgia, two states that gained the most people nationwide in 2007 next to Texas and California.

But Florida need not worry, with its beautiful weather and miles and miles of coastal acreage, there will always be people who migrate to the Sunshine State over the others for many different reasons.
